Emma White – Ocotillo City
We started off our day with the primary elections for the county and state positions. We also voted for who would go on to the voting for Girls Nation. We ended the day with a visit to our sister city. Ocotillo and Manzanita being the wonderful sisters they are decided to play two truths and a lie. In doing so we found out a lot about the people in each town including our own.
I found a fellow tuba player and a trumpet player. I learned some of our delegates are born out of country and others have been to Watintion and China. There is a model among us and one from a group of triplets. Some people have a lot of pets while others have a lot of siblings. Beaucoup d’entre nous connaissent une ou plusieurs langues. (Many of us know one or more languages.) Some of us are so cool they helped make a self help book and some don’t like hamburgers.
The funniest part of the day was when Kennedy the Mayor of Manzanita said this, “Play Cheerleading.” All in all this was a fun and exciting time to learn about the people in my city and sister city as I continue to work with them and make this experience the best that I can.
