Anna Davis – Juniper City Reporters

Girls State is in full swing of campaigning. Juniper City is no exception. The majority of Juniper is running for a county or state position, and had to jump through some hurdles to do so.

Anna Davis, who is running for Governor, said that “I had to do 15 pushups on one floor, on another I had to do sprints, and then my favorite, I had to tell some school drama— all to hang up campaign posters. It was all super crazy, but I had so much fun doing it.”

Juniper’s own Ava Clark, had a similar experience, but part of it she was helping administer.

One of Juniper’s challenges was to race Clark down the hall and back to be able to hang up a poster. Clark said that “I was completely joking, but the first girl I asked was totally up for it. We raced up and down the hallway, I won, and we let her hang her posters anyways.”

Overall, campaigning, while chaotic, has most definitely been memorable not only for Juniper, but for the State as a whole.
