Emma White – Ocotillo City

On the second day of Girls State we first voted for our PC’s (Precinct Committee). Well, we tried to. We had some technical difficulties but we were able to vote at the end. We also voted for our Mayor and Councilwomen. Our Mayor, Miss Sierra, is being fully supported by her councilwomen, Cydney and Dyana. Thank you all so much for taking on these positions.

We soon got back to work getting our town finished. Ocotillo is next to a National park that holds a mountain range where the observatory sits. Many weird stories have been told about what flies over the forest and hides in the caves but they aren’t true. There is also a research facility and even a theme park to bring more jobs. We are still working on placing everything where we want it in town but we do know there is a secret to the map if you know to look for it.

The average population of the town is around 80,000 people but that can vary based on season and what kind of visitors we have from… “out of town”. Ocotillo’s history is an interesting one. With the observatory being built we soon attracted many visitors. A research facility soon was founded that spread rumors all over the state. The lush forest and beautiful wonders of the waterfalls and caves soon turned it into a National Park. Ocotillo’s main town soon started up outside the park which brought many tourists.
