While the citizens of Girl State learned the ins and outs of county and state government, assessed the number of candidates in their counties running for each government position, and began campaigning for the elections to come, it seems the citizens of boy state have been up to other activities.

Boy State citizen Noah Bartlett, who ran for Compton State Senator in the primaries today, gave an update on his day: “Today we had a career night where we went to a few 15-minute sessions of people presenting programs like naval academy, rotc, border patrol, FBI, marshal service, etc.” He continued, stating that “at ‘Boy State University,’ (which prepares them for their positions in government) we have law and legislative school, and then you have to pass the bar if you want to be a lawyer.”

He also cleared up some recent rumors circulating at Girl State concerning whether or not a city had assassinated their mayor, by simply stating he had not heard of such events.

Concerning the food, Bartlett states “breakfast and lunch are alright but they definitely need to serve more, and dinner is typically pretty solid,” to which many Girl State citizens would agree is the case on the other side of campus.

So it seems while the food catering is similar, the current events and processes of government positions differ between Girl State and Boy State, proving the two to be closer to cousin programs rather than sisters.
