“I’ve got big money for the speak-easys now,” said one four year resident of Ocotillo, Haley Walsh while out for a stroll on main, alluding to the times when money, “just wasn’t as easy to come by”.

A once dry and desolate town with a plummeting population has finally been quenched, in what some residents can only describe as a miracle.

Last fall, after the mysterious death of Morgan Eastwood and the subsequent stepping down of her father, Mayor Clint Eastwood, rumors circulated that the death of this beloved town icon might have brought good fortune and an end to their misery.

Their prayers were answered when the water in the Oco River suddenly began flowing again, bringing the first bloom of the ocotillo flower in over three years.

The riverside was quickly converted into a place for healing and celebration, and then the tourists began to pour in.

“Tourism brought in massive economy!” said newly elected Mayor Darlene Herrington when asked about continuing changes in the community. According to officials, lavish hospitality with new fresh influences are being erected on the waterfront, in what is shaping up to be a stunning boardwalk avenue.

It is truly an exciting time for development in the Ocotillo river valley area and business as well as residents encourage you to pay a visit!
