Abby Dubois – Sycamore City

Sycamore proves itself as a leading environmentally conscientious city.

The citizens pride themselves in their united community of 10,000. Instead of the town being run under a large corporate company, each building is as unique as the people who own it. Every company is powered by solar energy, which can be seen on the roofs of the city.

The restaurants are individually owned and use a diner-like atmosphere, as opposed to being overrun with fast food. Vegan options are required on the menu.

The majority of crops are grown locally within community gardens. Lemon, orange, and grapefruit trees can be seen littered across Sycamore Park. Leafy greens, cabbages, potatoes, and tomatoes can be found growing in small gardens outside nearly every home. Strawberries and apples are among the most popular fruits.

Sycamore is one of the major recycling communities within the country. Places of business are required to have large recycling bins and it is highly emphasized.

Recently, the city held elections for different positions: Precinct Committee, Mayor, City Clerk, Treasurer, and Councilwoman.

Six individuals ran for Precinct Committeemen with only two winners for each party. Federalist winners include Taylor Brown and Carmen Roe and Nationalist winners Annie Traugutt and Hannah Lennon.

The Federalist candidate for Mayor was Hailey B and Nationalist candidate was Becca Hall. Becca Hall secured a win for the Nationalist Party.

A member of each party earned the title of Councilwoman. Cidra Bayazed, Federalist, and Rebecca Rios-Lazo, Nationalist.

Madison Gallagher ran as City Clerk, followed by Abby Dubois winning the position of Treasurer, and Maddy Bleak as City Planner, all unopposed.
